How to pick up and go
To be in the very lucky position to travel, it helps to have a few things in your favour.
1. Mental wellbeing - "Mental wellbeing means feeling good - both about yourself and about the world around you. It means being able to get on with life in the way you want."- NHS U.K
This definition really resides with me. From a travel perspective, it's important to have a positive mind set as well as trust that the world is a safe place for you to explore.
2. Physical health - "Traditional definitions of physical health prior to the onset of modern medicine would have considered someone physically health if he or she was not stricken with a serious illness" - Study.com
This one is pretty simple, you don't have any physical limitations or dependancies to stay country bound where you were born.
3. Financial security - "Financial security refers to the peace of mind you feel when you aren't worried about your income being enough to cover your expenses. It also means that you have enough money saved to cover emergencies and your future financial goals." - Quicken.com
This is the area I was weakest in, and it affected my mental wellbeing at times living pay cheque to pay cheque. Whilst I'm glad that I left Australia when I did, I would recommend anyone looking at travelling with limited access to savings delays their trip until in a more sound position. Having financial security increases your travel opportunities once you've landed in the country you want to visit, it's not much fun saying 'no' to weekends away because you're worried about if you're even going to make the rent.
YOU CAN DO IT!
It is still possible to Get up & Go even with one of these three areas impeded. What will be potentially affected is the quality of your experience. When one area is impeded it can domino affect other areas of your life.
Many people have travelled far and wide despite all odds and I respect that whole heartedly. When you are one of those fortunate people that have those three areas in check, it's important to remember that not everybody has got it so easy. Travelling consciously with gratitude will draw magnificent people into your life.
